Romance, Drama // Germany 2023 // 103 minutes

In his film, Afire, Christian Petzold brings four young people together in a small holiday house by the Baltic Sea in the summer. Through these four young people, Leon, Felix, Nadja and Devid, sharing this house, a story about self-reflection, understanding each other and oneself, against the background of the climate crisis, is told. The parched forest near the holiday home begins to blaze, it rains ash, and the sky turns red. With this, their emotions ignite. A film filled with symbolism and realism.
