Film Education

Following up on the success of FilmED, we are introducing Cinemocracy - our brand new film education project. This time, our goal is to show different ways of using film for promoting European values, democracy, diversity and respect.

What we do

Over the next three years, we will be working with four other European partners and developing a variety of interesting activities and formats for young people aged 14 to 18, as well as teachers and student teachers.

More information coming soon! Stay updated and follow our social media channels, along with this page.

Our Film Education Activities

  • Film Education Training for Teachers

Film will soon become part of the curriculum at Czech primary schools: In a series of eight free workshops, you will be prepared step by step for film education according to the new Framework Educational Programme of the Czech Ministry of Education.

  • Film Club for Children

Interested in participating, but your children are too young? We also offer a regular bilingual Czech-German after-school club for children aged 3 to 6 and 6 to 8, where they are introduced to the world of film through playful and engaging activities.

  • Cinemocracy School Screenings

Cinemocracy enriches the school screenings of Das Filmfest with three films from its catalog on this year's theme "Disruption of Democracy." The educational program includes a debate among participants and a discussion with an invited guest or expert following the screening. In addition to the festival's school screenings, we also offer a regular, year-round screening series held at the Goethe-Institut.
