Noisy Words: Point Contact

Point Contact are a boundary pushing four-piece international ensemble, spanning the UK, the Netherlands, and Germany. The group uses analogue and acoustic instruments, field recordings, noise, drones and rhythmic complexity to explore the enormity of existence.

The project started life as a series of experiments in structure and form by Jo Wills, quickly growing to incorporate the raw power of Guy Wood on drums before expanding to include Rasmus Zschoch, Sean Norris on electronics and guitar duties and Rhia Parker in vocals. This slow and uncompromising incubation period has given rise to a truly unique, unbounded musical project that is constantly evolving.

10 years in the making, Point Contact’s first album “A Fleeting Point in Terrifying Beauty” was released last year on WW Records to wide acclaim with support from 6 music and debuted as a full scale AV show with Austrian visual artists TofuKoma. It is a record about scale, from the tiny overlooked details that surround us to the universe unfurling around us, the passing of time, the age of stars, the width of voids, and our fleeting moment as a reference point in the swirl of existence.
