Have you ever had the incredible experience of encountering an artwork, a concert, or a theater performance that touched you deeply and will stay in your memory for a long time? If so, you’ll probably have found yourself wondering about the creative process behind it. Where did the inspiration come from? How did the artwork come about?
An idea fell from the heavens and within a few days the masterpiece came to the world! Such experiences are very rare. The majority of artists spend a long time researching, prototyping, and maturing their ideas to create a piece of art.
The residency plays a key role in the creative process, accompanying the artist throughout. This is the role of the Goethe-Institut Villa Kamogawa. On the day, the residency apartment where the artists live will be open to the public. There will also be a workshop where you can plan a piece of work as if you were the artist. Where would you like to go? What would you do? Who would you meet? And what kind of work would you create?
Join us at Villa Kamogawa's Open Door Day and be part of the creative process of our amazing artists!
