For Tilman Hecker’s Lichter Spiegel II – Opera for Everyone, we are pleased to present a continuation of the participatory music installation first held at Villa Kamogawa in 2024 and further developed in 2026 at Berlin’s Neue Nationalgalerie together the American poet, musician and activist Moor Mother, special guests, and with the renowned experimental music ensemble "ensemble mosaik".

We are returning to Kyoto with even more opportunities for participation, more guest artists, and, above all, a very special appearance by Moor Mother herself, winner of the German Jazz Prize 2023, who has collaborated with Hecker on several occasions since 2020.

Join us at Villa Kamogawa on October 3 at 5:00 p.m. Bring your instruments, your voice, or your family, or simply try out the instruments we provide. Learn to play the flute with us, listen together, and tune in to yourself, to Moor Mother, to sound artist Yoshihiro Kawasaki, to trumpeter Christopher Fryman, and to many others. Afterwards, stay and enjoy a glass of sake with us. We look forward to welcoming you.
