KLEX 2019
Kuala Lumpur Experimental Film, Video and Music Festival
2019 marks the 10th anniversary of the Kuala Lumpur Experimental Film, Video and Music Festival. KLEX is an independent, artist-run grassroots international festival of experimental film, video art and music founded in Malaysia in 2010, aiming at creating a platform for contemporary experimental moving images and music from the region and worldwide.
This year’s festival theme is “0 1” (Zero – One), the “0” standing for nothing at all but also for the basis of new inventions and ideas and the “1” for the first step of creating something new. Therefore “0” and “1” can be seen as the basis of all existence.
This year the KLEX festival will screen the program SHORT EXPORT 2019 – Made in Germany, a French-German cooperation project, which consists out of seven selected short films from Germany. They all show different facets of German reality and thus provide a multidimensional picture of Germany. The project was created by The German Short Film Association, German Films, the Short Film Festival Clermont-Ferrand and the Short Film Agency Hamburg as well as the Goethe-Institut Lyon.
