Marion Poschmann

(born. 15.12.1969 in Essen), Author

Marion Poschmann studied German, Philosophy and Slavic Studies in Bonn and Berlin and did a course on Creative Writing for the Stage at the Berlin University of the Arts. She taught German as part of a primary school project. In 2002 she published her debut novel entitled Baden bei Gewitter. This was followed by volumes of poetry and other novels. Marion Poschmann’s poetry work was awarded the Peter Huchel Prize and the Ernst Meister Prize for Poetry. With the novel Die Sonnenposition she made it onto the shortlist for the German Book Prize in 2013. The English edition of the novel The Pine Islands (original: Die Kieferninseln published 2017) was nominated for the Man Booker International Prize in 2019. Marion Poschmann lives in Berlin.
