Ulrike Guérot
(born 1964 in Grevenbroich), political scientist, publicist
Ulrike Guérot studied politics in Cologne, Paris and Bonn, and wrote her PhD on the European policy of the French socialists. She founded the European Democracy Lab at the European School of Governance in Berlin, and since 2016 she has worked as professor and head of the Department for European Policy and the Study of Democracy at the Danube University Krems in Austria. Her highly regarded book Warum Europa eine Republik werden muss! Eine politische Utopie (Why Europe Should Become a Republic! A Political Utopia) was published in 2014. Ulrike Guérot received the French Order of Merit L'ordre national du Mérite and the Salzburg State Prize for Future Research. She lives in Krems and Berlin.
