Katja Happe

(born 1970), historian

Katja Happe studied history, German and education at the University of Siegen and the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen in the Netherlands. Her specialist area is the Netherlands during the time of National Socialist occupation. She has published books on this subject entitled Deutsche in den Niederlanden 1918-1945 (i.e. Germans in the Netherlands 1918-1945; 2004) and Viele falsche Hoffnungen. Judenverfolgung in den Niederlanden 1940-1945 (i.e. Many False Hopes. Persecution of Jews in the Netherlands 1940-1945; 2017). She worked at the Münchner Platz memorial site in Dresden and was director of the concentration camp memorial site Ladelund in Schleswig-Holstein in 2019.
