Wilhelm Genazino

Wilhelm Genazino studied German, philosophy and sociology in Frankfurt am Main. After that he worked as a journalist and editor. At the end of the 1970s his Abschaffel trilogy about the day-to-day life of an office worker was published, giving him his first breakthrough. It was followed in quick succession by further novels and essays. Wilhelm Genazino won numerous awards, including the Georg Büchner Prize in 2004 and the Kleist Prize in 2007. His novel "Wenn wir Tiere wären" (If We Were Animals) was nominated for the German Book Prize in 2011. The novel "Kein Geld, keine Uhr, keine Mütze" (No Money, No Watch, No Cap) was most recently republished in 2018.
