Dörte Hansen
(born 1964 in Husum), author, journalist
After her degree in sociolinguistics, English, Romance studies and Frisian studies in Kiel, Dörte Hansen worked as a journalist for various radio stations and magazines. She was a radio culture editor until 2012, before concentrating on writing books. She published her debut in 2015, Altes Land (Old Country), which met with wide acclaim. It was nominated Independent Booksellers' Favourite Book of the Year and won the Usedom Literature Prize. Dörte Hansen's second novel Mittagsstunde (Lunch Hour; 2019) received the Rheingau Literature Prize. The author lives in Husum.
