Mariana Leky

(born 12.02.1973 in Cologne) writer

Mariana Leky trained as a bookseller, studied German and Empirical Cultural Studies as well as Creative Writing and Cultural Journalism in Hildesheim. Two of her stories won prizes in the literary competition of Allegra magazine and the Lower Saxony Literary Competition. Her first collection of stories, Liebesperlen, was published in 2001, followed three years later by her debut novel, Erste Hilfe. The novel Was man von hier aus sehen kann (2017) became a bestseller and popular success. Mariana Leky lives in Berlin.
