Kristine Bilkau
(born 1974 in Hamburg), author, journalist
Kristine Bilkau studied history in her home city of Hamburg and in New Orleans and after that she worked as a journalist for various magazines. She was a finalist in the Open Mike literature competition in Berlin and attended the Bavarian Writing Academy at the Munich Literature House. In 2015 she published her debut novel Die Glücklichen (i.e. The Happy Ones) to much acclaim, and it received awards including the Hamburg Literature Prize and the Klaus-Michael Kühne Prize. Kristine Bilkau lives in Hamburg.
