Shida Bazyar
(born 1988 in Hermeskeil), author
Shida Bazyar studied literary writing and cultural journalism in Hildesheim. She works as an education consultant and supports young people during their voluntary ecological year. As well as that she has published short stories in magazines and anthologies, and received several literary scholarships. In 2016 her debut novel Nachts ist es leise in Teheran (i.e. Nights are Peaceful in Tehran) was published, which received many awards including the Ulla Hahn Authors' Prize and the Uwe Johnson Endowment. Shida Bazyar lives in Berlin.
