Jan Birck
(born 1963 in Munich), illustrator, children's author
Jan Birck studied architecture. He worked as a graphic artist in the advertising industry, as well as a cartoon film illustrator, before starting to illustrate children's books. As an illustrator he was best-known for the book series Die Wilden Fußballkerle (The WQild Soccer Bunch) in cooperation with author Joachim Masannek. Jan Birck's first publication as an author was with the series Secret Agent Morris, for which he received the Troisdorfer Youth Book Prize in 2004. Other series he has written include: Zarah & Zottel, as well as Storm oder die Erfindung des Fußballs (i.e. Storm or the Invention of Football). Jan Birck lives in Munich.
