Joachim Krause
(born 1946 in Ehrenhain), chemist, theologian, author.
Joachim Krause studied chemistry in Dresden and then worked as a scientific assistant. Along the way he wrote song lyrics for various rock music groups in the GDR. Later he did a correspondence course in theology and was a commissioner for faith, science and the environment in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Saxony. In 2008 he published the book Am Abend mancher Tage. Eine Spurensuche in Mitteldeutschland. In 2016, he edited the book Fremde Eltern, which contains diaries and correspondence of his parents and relatives during the years 1933 to 1945. For this, Joachim Krause was awarded the Historian's Prize Ur-Krostitzer Jahresring 2018.
