Ulli Lust
(born 1967 in Vienna) comic artist, illustrator.
After an apprenticeship as a design and fashion illustrator, Ulli Lust began illustrating children's books. In 1993 Marco und der Drache was published with a text by Käthe Recheis and Friedl Hofbauer. Later she studied graphic design at the Berlin-Weißensee Academy of Art. Ulli Lust mainly draws comic reports based on journalistic research, which were published in the books Alltagsspionage - Comicreportagen aus Berlin (2001) and Berlin-Helmholtzplatz 1998 + 2004 (2004), among others. Her autobiographical comic Heute ist der letzte Tag vom Rest deines Lebens, 2009) received the ICOM Award for Best German Comic and the Max & Moritz Audience Award, among others. In 2013 she published the graphic novel Flughunde based on the novel of the same title by Marcel Beyer. Ulli Lust lives in Berlin and is a professor at the Hanover University of Applied Sciences and Arts.
