By Olivier Jourdain (2017)

This week we will watch the movie Sacred Water by Olivier Jourdain, a Belgian documentary filmmaker who is passionate about visual anthropology.

Sacred water explores the practice of Kunyaza, the female ejaculation, also known as squirting orgasm, which follows a long tradition in Rwanda.

Due to a legend female ejaculation originates from a queen whose ejaculation was so intense, that it filled Lake Kivu.

While in many western cultures sexuality is still about fulfilling male pleasure, female orgasm and especially female ejaculation enjoys a high status in Rwandan society, thus men want to make sure they are pleasuring their partners.

Sacred water is a humorous and refreshing documentary about female pleasure and the particularities of Rwandan sexual culture.
