The Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Jeddah, the Saudi Arts Council and the Goethe-Institut are launching a joint Open Call for artists in Saudi Arabia with the aim of strengthening the networking of the artistic scenes in Saudi Arabia and Germany with focus on artistic work in the public space.

The ISTIKSHAF programme consists of a (virtual) education and networking programme, a 10-day study trip to Germany and a presentation in Saudi Arabia.

WHAT IS OFFERED?

Workshops and seminars on the following topics:
creating a portfolio in social media
working in public space (theory and practical implementation)
personal one-to-one coaching and feedback from artist to artist and curator to artist
joint workshops and break-out sessions with a group of artists and curators from Germany

10-day study trip in Autumn 2021:
to Berlin, Hamburg and Cologne
Visits to museums and artists' studios
flight from the place of residence to Germany and transport in Germany
hotel accommodation during the trip
Breakfast and one meal on the days of travel

After completion of the programme, an artistic presentation and discussion in Saudi Arabia will take place.

Requirements for application:
- Interest in networking with the cultural scene in Germany.
- Good command of English
- Commitment to participate in all phases of the programme (7 Sessions, about 20 hrs in total)
