Placement Test

Sample Test

The Sample Test gives you an initial orientation on your existing knowledge of German. During the test, you go through different tasks in which your reading comprehension and your knowledge of grammar and vocabulary is tested.

If you want to attend a course at the Goethe-Institut, this test is not sufficient. In this case, please register for the placement test.

Placement Test

We use a placement test to find out what previous knowledge you have, set a learning goal together with you and select a suitable course with you.

You can take the test conveniently online or at our institute. You will then receive the result and can then enroll in the appropriate course.

Minimum age for the test: 16 years

  • Individual placement in the appropriate course level
  • precise result, e.g. A1.2, B2.1
