Terms and Conditions
REAL TIME CLASSES
Real-time lessons are conducted either as physical lessons at the institute or as virtual lessons via Zoom, as offered. Any change to the mode of instruction will be at the sole discretion of the institute in line with the Singapore government directives.
Students who are unable to attend due to travel or health reasons have the option to watch the lesson via Zoom at the same class timing.
In line with international data protection requirements, lessons are not recorded. Exceptions are not possible.
TERMS OF PAYMENT
Fees are payable in full on enrolment, no later than 15 working days (Mon-Fri) before commencement of the course. We only accept payment via bank transfer.
Failure to make timely payment will result in an immediate loss of place in the course, without further notice.
Unless stated otherwise, books must be purchased separately. Blended Learning Courses include the teaching material on our learning platform.
The contractually binding fee is the fee stated on the website of Goethe-Institut Singapore.
CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS
Cancellations up to 15 working days (Mon-Fri) before the start of a course are free of charge. Thereafter, no refund of course fees can be given on intensive courses, and a refund of course fees less an administrative fee of S$90 will be given on standard courses up until 5 working days (Mon-Fri) before the start of a course. Applicants should consider their personal commitments and circumstances before enrolment.
Cancellations must be submitted in writing. The date of cancellation shall be the date of receipt at the Goethe-Institut Singapore.
Course fees cannot be transferred to another term or another person, be it in full or in part.
In order to achieve active engagement amongst course participants, all our courses require a minimum of 10 students for our standard group courses and a minimum of 6 students for our intensive group courses. In the event that these minimum numbers are not fulfilled, the Goethe-institute reserves the right to cancel affected courses and a full refund will be granted for payment made.
CHANGE OF COURSE
Transfers to another course level can be considered after the first course day, one time only and after consultation with your teacher and the Language Office.
GENERAL CONDITIONS
Our courses are designed for adult learners (age 16+).
The maximum number of participants for standard courses is 18 and in intensive courses 14 participants.
Please note that special conditions apply for young learners' courses, one-to-one and small group tuition, corporate courses and examinations.
There will be replacement sessions for public holidays as per in-class arrangement.

The liability of the Goethe-Institut and its employees is limited to intent and gross negligence. The Goethe-Institut is also not liable for disruption to its services due to force majeure (e.g. natural disaster, fire, flood, war, official orders, and all other circumstances beyond the control of the contract parties).
When an extraordinary event or circumstance beyond the control of Goethe-Institut such as war, strike, riot, crime, epidemic or an event described by the legal term act of God (hurricane, flood, earthquake, volcanic eruption, etc.), we will offer course adjustments (e.g. room or class schedule).

The recommended maximum number of participants is up to 16 for company courses.
For cancellation and rescheduling of a session, at least 24 hours advance notice is required, otherwise it will be charged as one session.
For courses outside Goethe-Institut a transportation charge is applicable depending on the distance between the Goethe-Institut and the requested venue.

The maximum number of participants is 1 for individual tuition.
The maximum number of participants is 3 for small group tuition.
The minimum booking for individual/small group tuition is 5 sessions of 2 TU (= 90 min).
Sessions have to be conducted as scheduled and taken within 6 months of start of course. For cancellation and rescheduling, at least 24 hours advance notice is required, otherwise it will be charged as one session.

GENERAL CONDITIONS
The offered examinations are recommended for adult participants (16 years and above), unless stated otherwise.
Once an examination is fully booked, we cannot accept more participants even if the registration deadline has not expired.
