Fondo de coproducción internacional
del Goethe-Institut

International coproductions epitomize a form of artistic collaboration involving partnership and dialogue. With a view to encouraging new collaborative working processes and innovative productions involving international cultural exchange, the Goethe-Institut set up a new coproduction fund in the summer of 2016 to promote new working networks and approaches within a global context and to explore new forms of intercultural collaboration.

From Uruguay:

EXPEDITIONS IN A SPECIFIC TERRITORY ROSTOCK-MONTEVIDEO

The old ports of Montevideo and Rostock manifest themselves in strikingly similar ways: forgotten and largely unused, against the backdrop of centuries-old, picturesque cities wirh discreet, elegant architecture and checkered histories. New international ports are being built on the riverbanks of the Warnow and De La Plata rivers. Mechanical monsters, standardized by global freight traffic. The contrast between local and global materializes vividly, giving clear indications of the contradictions of our post-industrial and hyper-mercantile times.
The project will place itself on the uncertain edges – understanding central and post-pandemic questions as a thin, new skin of a growing body. Its permeability and fragility are put up for discussion.
A group of sound artists and urbanists from Germany and Uruguay is invited to cross the margins and boundaries of perceptions in these concrete territories.

A COPRODUCTION of: SRAP (Sedlak Rissland Architekten) & TERRITORIO ESPECÍFICO (Cristian Espinoza, Pilar Gonzalez, Pol Villasuso)  | Curators: Rene Rissland + Cristian Espinoza | Artists: Carsten Stabenow, Leonello Zambón, Eugenia González, Fernando Godoy, Pilar González, Pablo Villasuso (and more to be announced).
