KinoFest returns to Ho Chi Minh City: From 11 to 16 November 2026, the Goethe-Institut brings eight contemporary German film productions to Saigon. Connected by stories of freedom, coming-of-age, and the longing for connection, this year’s program explores personal paths, social friction, and the search for genuine closeness.

The opening marks a standout highlight: For the premiere, KinoFest welcomes lead actor Bruno Alexander (Oh, This Unspeakable Void) in person for a live Q&A with the audience. The wider lineup spans intense social dramas, thoughtful humor, and moving stories for multi-generational audiences. Highlights include Berlinale triumph Yellow Letters (Golden Bear), the historical drama Rose (Silver Bear for Sandra Hüller), and the poetic ensemble piece Silent Friend starring Tony Leung Chiu-wai and Léa Seydoux.

For the first time, the festival takes place across two special venues: In addition to screenings at Galaxy Cinema, KinoFest invites audiences to open-air screenings on the grounds of the Residence of the German Consulate General. All films will be screened in their original language with English and Vietnamese subtitles.
