Africa-Europe Partnerships For Culture (AEPC)

With over €70 million in EU funding and a consortium of leading international cultural institutions, AEPC connects artist, cultural practitioners, museums and festivals across Sub-Saharan Africa as well as between Africa and Europe. AEPC was built in collaboration with African artists and cultural professionals. Their voices shape every engagement in the implementation.

Subsahara-Afrika

Sub-Saharan Africa

The Continental Sub-Saharan Africa component is an 8 million euros flagship initiative dedicated to strengthening cultural cooperation between Africa and Europe through the arts. Through targeted support programmes and partnerships, the project aims to create sustainable opportunities for collaboration and artistic growth.

Southern Africa

The Southern Africa Component puts heritage narratives in the centre of cultural collaboration across Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Namibia, South Africa and Zimbabwe as well as with Europe. It thrives to build 19 international heritage narrative clusters that connect heritage organisations with artists, creative practitioners, and cultural professionals.

West Africa

The West Africa Componentstrengthens collaboration between festivals within West Africa as well as between West Africa and Europe. Festivals serve as market places of different stakeholders in the arts and cultural landscapes, offering professionals to meet, exchange and engage with audiences. West Africa is a multilingual and multicultural sub-region in Africa.

Museum Partnership

The Africa-Europe Museum Partnership aims to create new narratives of museum collaborations within Sub-Saharan Africa as well as between Sub-Saharan Africa and Europe along the pillars collections, exhibitions and mutual learning.
