What does the concept of sustainability, so popular in the visual arts, have to do with artist residencies?
How can we understand sustainability in the context of cultural mobility? What challenges and tensions emerge at the intersection of artistic mobility, environmental responsibility, local communities, and artists’ working conditions?

As part of the CYCLE UP! project, we have prepared a webinar in which we would like to present the publication Sustaining Creativity, dedicated to sustainability in the context of residency programmes.
Our aim is not only to introduce practices, tools, and concepts that may help in designing and running more sustainable residencies, but above all to create a space for discussion and the exchange of experiences.

We invite you to explore the publication and join the conversation. Together, we would like to reflect on what a sustainable residency can mean today and how it is reshaping our understanding of artistic mobility.
