As part of the CYCLE UP! project and in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut Prague library, we invited broad public to the Goethe-Institut on Saturday 30 November for a day full of pre-Christmas activities. We have prepared creative workshops, Christmas music, events for children, reading Christmas stories and games for young and old. During the event, we focused on reusing recyclable materials and upcycling.

Cookies and carols provided the Christmas atmosphere! Other refreshments were be available for purchase at the Goethe-Café.

Silent Night: A concert by the chamber ensemble Cenerentola under the direction of Hana Slavicka, accompanied by the Japanese picture theatre Kamishibai, which presented the story of this world-famous carol. Creative workshop with Jana de Troyer, an artist from Hamburg. Making reflective pendants for dark days and playing Christmas carols on bells from bicycle wheels. Crochet workshop with Kateřina Beránková - Crocheting your own Christmas ornament! FilmEd Kinderklub - animation lessons for children with our experienced teachers, in German and Czech. Children learn to think about film with fun and creative activities. For children from 3 years old.

Reading of Christmas stories in Czech and German by our teachers. In the children's area in the library foyer: at 13:30 and 15:00 Making paper puppets based on Erich Kästner's books under the guidance of Brazilian artist and puppeteer Gilberto Conti.

Printing on second hand T-shirts with artist Kaja Hankova Plant swap! bring healthy plants to swap and decorate your pots! Games for young and old. Come spin our wheel of fortune made from an old bicycle!
