We prepared a variety of activities in 2020 for you to enjoy European linguistic and cultural diversity. You could have tried your hand in our online quiz, enjoyed our online speak-dating, or participated in a radio competition on radio Impuls from September 21 to September 25 to win one of 5 Kindle readers. You can also watch our original video entitled „Good translation is invisible“ prepared in cooperation with Kampus Hybernská (Hybernská 4) focusing on different aspects of artistic translation (literature, subtitling, dubbing).
We look forward to seeing you at the European Day of Languages 2021!
Cannot make it in person? Do not worry! We are currently trying to find a way to bring Speak-dating online again the next year. Alongside the traditional live event in Lucerna, of course.
Not from Prague? No problem, the European Day of Languages takes place all over Europe. For more events just check here.
What is speak-dating?
Speak-dating consists of 5-minute language “classes” in different selected languages. The lecturers are able to adapt to your level. You can practice your existing language skills or try out a completely new foreign language on your way home from work or from a shopping spree.
2019, we prepared a record-breaking 42 languages!
Arabic, Basque, Breton, Bulgarian, Chinese, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Estonian, Finnish, French, Galician, Georgian, German, Greek, Greenlandic, Hebrew, Hungarian, Indonesian, Irish Gaelic, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latvian, Lithuanian, Norwegian, Persian, Polish, „po našymu“, Portuguese, Romani, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Slovenian, Sorbian, Spanish, Swedish, Tibetan, Turkish, Ukrainian, Vietnamese
