Künstler*innen erschaffen oft Kunstwerke, die sich kritisch mit den möglichen Auswirkungenneuer Technologien auf die Gesellschaft auseinandersetzen. Seit Jahren stellen Künstler*innen auf der ganzen Welt Werke aus, die sich mit künstlicher Intelligenz befassen. Aber was ist mit Quantentechnologien? Können wir jetzt schon einen offenen Dialog über das Potential von Quantentechnologien führen? Welche Rolle können Künstler*innen und Kunst dabei spielen, unser Wissen zu vertiefen und mögliche Probleme zu erforschen?

Studio Quantum ist ein neues Veranstaltungs- und Residenzprogramm des Goethe-Instituts Irland, das Verbindungen zwischen Künstler*innen, der Öffentlichkeit und Partnern aus Kultur, Wissenschaft, der Tech-Branche und dem Bildungssektor schafft und so einen offenen Dialog über Quantentechnologien und Kunst fördert. Bei dieser Veranstaltung sprachen die Studio Quantum Residenzkünstler*innen kennedy+swan über ihre Projekte und die Bedeutung solcher Kunst- und Technologie-Residenzen mit Dr. Deirdre Kilbane, Projektleiterin Ireland Quantum Communications Infrastructure, CONNECT Principal Investigator und Director of Research am Walton Institute. Studio Quantum wird unterstützt von CONNECT, dem Science Foundation Ireland Research Centre for Future Networks and Communications.
