Nadya Hatta learned classical piano during her childhood but gradually became interested in exploring the piano’s sound (digital piano and effects) and creating music compositions. She has collaborated on improv works and sessions with musicians such as Jay Afrisando, Dale Gorfinkel, Zoo (Rully Shabara, Bhakti Prasetyo, Dimas Budi Satya, and Ramberto Agozalie), Otomo Yoshihide, Morinaga Yasuhiro, Ikbal Lubys, Lintang Raditya, and many others.

Hatta was involved as composer/arranger/musician in the post-rock band Individual Life, as well as in music productions, art exhibitions, and theater and dance performances such as the “Dialita” women’s choir composed of survivors from the 1965 genocide, “Golong Gilig Trajumanggala” by Knyut Y. Kubro, Royke B. Koapaha, and Sapto Raharjo, “Memoirs of Gandari” by RSTH and Slamet Gundono & Wayang Suket, “The Seagull” by Corrina Manara, “Je.ja.l.an” by Yudi Ahmad Tajudin, “Music an Encounter” by Otomo Yoshihide, Morinaga Yasuhiro, and WYST collective (Asa Rahmana, Ikbal Lubys, Lintang Radittya, Yennu Ariendra), “Menara Ingatan” by Yennu Ariendra, and “On Paradise” by Jompet Kuswidananto. She also provided input into film scores: “Arini” by Ismail Basbeth (as assistant composer), and “The Gift” by Hanung Bramantyo (as assistant orchestrator).

Hatta is a graduate of the Atma Jaya University’s Architecture department, in Yogyakarta.
