Ayu Saraswati was born in Pekalongan, Central Java. She began learning the piano when she was 9 years old. After moving to Yogyakarta to study in college, she got to know the city’s local music community and started getting involved with diverse musical project. Over the years, she has also taught piano/keyboard at various schools in the city.

Saraswati founded the band Talamariam in 2013, performing as its synth player. In 2016, she created a solo project named Mengayunkayu, which focuses on voice and piano. She is currently focused on releasing a first album under this solo project.
