Electric duo ANTARMUKA is helmed by Syafiq Halid and Rosemainy Buang. Formed in Singapura on the foundation of a decade-long friendship, ANTARMUKA experiments with finding the balance between analogue sensibilities and the digital world, with influences from the Nusantara region. In 2022, the duo released their first single KRANK.

Member Rosemainy Buang is a gamelan musician, composer and educator. Traditionally trained in Gamelan for over 10 years, Buang looks forward to creating and collaborating with other art forms and practitioners by molding traditional gamelan musical idioms to complement other musical styles. She is also interested in multidisciplinary collaboration, venturing into electronics and sound design. Fuelled by the philosophy of gamelan in which establishing a relationship between the musician and the music requires more than hitting the right notes, Buang aspires to ascend towards rasa – the highest form of aesthetics in karawitan.

Syafiq Halid is a sound designer, electronic artist, and percussionist who has developed a unique style, mixing percussion with samples and electronic music influences. He has worked in different capacities in contemporary theatre, dance, and performing arts projects. In late 2016, Haliq was successfully certified in the prestigious and highly competitive Ableton Certified Trainer Program in Hong Kong, becoming the first and youngest-ever Ableton Certified Trainer in Singapore. He officially launched Grid Culture in May 2019, Singapore’s first and only Ableton Certified Training Centre which provides training services and education in electronic music production and live music performance using Ableton Live.
