The concept of our work was to introduce the subculture of Seoul. We wanted to create a song that could not only well-deliver the vibrant atmosphere of Seoul but also show the tranquility that we’ve found at night.
Seoul is a city splashed with various colors. A city of sleepless people. And a city full of dreams.
Behind the scenes
Salamanda is an Ambient/Leftfield music group, consisting of Seoul-based electronic music producers and DJs, Uman Therma (Sala) and Yetsuby (Manda).
Salamanda believes every sound has beauty, and they love to collect & create music from original field recordings from the world around them.Sharing their love for minimal, ambient, and many other genres, Salamanda have been busy presenting their own unique dreamy and humid tracks via online / physical releases.
As we ourselves and the music we create are far from the mainstream, we wanted to focus down and offer the audience with the opportunity to explore hidden / obscure spots in Seoul and find beauty from them. For that, we’ve visited a number of unique locations, rather than a series of well-known tourist attractions, and collected various sounds to be used in the audio track.

Concept
Seoul is home to a great number of skyscrapers and high-tech facilities as well as mountains and river at the same time. And it is also a hub of many different arts and culture. Because the sleepless city is full of dynamics and colors, the sounds collected were valuable ingredients for the audio track.
