Roger Berkovitz is Professor of Politics, Philosophy, and Human Rights at Bard College and founding director of the Hannah Arendt Center for Politics and Humanities, established in 2006. A scholar trained in law and political theory, he has written widely on Arendt’s political thought and its relevance today. In 2019, he received the Hannah Arendt Prize for Political Thought, and in 2026 Yale University Press will publish his book A World We Share: The Power of Friendship in a Time Without Truth.
