In Germany, the Goethe-Institut offers exams at twelve locations across all six levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). These range from A1–A2 for beginners, through B1–B2 for intermediate learners, to C1 and C2, which certify highly advanced to near-native proficiency. You can take the exams with or without a prior language course, allowing you to start at the level that matches your current skills.
