Germany Today (2007 Edition)

Germany Today is designed for middle and secondary classrooms.

The lessons examine Germany's changing position in Europe and the world as well as political institutions in Germany in a comparative context with the United States. Each lesson demonstrates the integration of research models for alignment, instructional scaffolding, and backward design of instruction and assessment (Based on Understanding by Design concepts, Grant Wiggins & Jay McTighe).

The package contains lesson plans and corresponding color transparencies in both standard and CD/PowerPoint format.

    The lessons examine the European Union governance, multiculturalism, and the Euro currency from the context of one of the Union's largest member nations. Each lesson demonstrates the integration of research models for alignment, instructional scaffolding, and backward design of instruction and assessment (Based on Understanding by Design concepts, Grant Wiggins & Jay McTighe).

      Race 4 The Future (Online Game)

      This interactive web-based game allows high school students to explore Berlin while receiving clues from kiosks spread throughout the city. It features visits to the Brandenburg Gate, Sony Center, Reichstag, KaDeWe and much more!

      This game takes between 60-90 minutes to complete. A broadband collection is highly recommended.
