The German American Partnership Program (GAPP) is the most successful bi-lateral short-term school exchange program between the United States and any other country. Sponsored by the German Foreign Office and the US Department of State, GAPP has proven to be the most powerful tool for promoting German programs for over 30 years.

Since 1982 over 250,000 students have participated in this program, the main objective of which is the integration of students into the everyday life of host families and into the classroom activities of host schools to provide them with a coherent intercultural experience.

The GAPP website provides in-depth information on
Furthermore, a limited number of teacher-, group- and individual scholarships are available on a first come, first served basis.

For detailed, first-hand information on how to initiate and administer an exchange, we can connect you with a number of experienced GAPP coordinators or principals of GAPP schools in your area, who will be able to answer any questions you might have.

*GAPP does not charge a fee for any of its services nor does GAPP make any arrangements for the exchange: the implementation of the program is solely the responsibility of the school administration.
