After completing the A1 level, students can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type. They will be able to introduce themselves and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details such as where they live, people they know and things they have. Students will be able to interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.

The A1 level at the Goethe-Institut in Washington consists of three progressively structured courses (A1.1, A1.2 and A1.3) usually offered every session.

*New students pay a one-time registration fee of $20. Payment of registration and/or course fees assumes acceptance of our Terms and Conditions.
