      Maren Strack

      Maren Strack is a sculptress, choreographer, dancer and musician. She studied at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Munich. During this period she took flamenco classes with Gonzales Reyes and became a member of his company for many years. During her studies, she began working at the interface of sculpture and movement/dance and developing kinetic installations and performances. In 1995, she received the City of Munich’s Scholarship for the Advancement of Theatre and Dance for her first full-length performance piece. Since then she has mainly developed solos and installations, which she has shown internationally, and has been awarded several prizes including the Special Award for “Best German Dance Solo” as well as the Junges Theater Bremen’s Authorship Prize.
