Familienzusammenführung (Family reunification)

This refers to the subsequent immigration of spouses/life partners over 18 years of age and children who are minors (see: Subsequent immigration of family members; Spouse immigration). Generally, all migrants entering Germany for the purpose of family reunification must apply for an entry visa. Nationals of EU countries, Switzerland, Australia, Israel, Japan, Canada, New Zealand, the Republic of Korea and the United States of America do not require an entry visa.
