After studying graphic design for three years, Barış Tatar enrolled at the Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts, Istanbul, where he earned his bachelor's degree in 2008 and is currently pursuing a master's degree, both in textile and fashion design. During his undergraduate studies, he completed internships with fashion designers Arzu Kaprol and Hakan Yıldırım. He now works in the design team of Hey Textile Corp. and makes designs for his own collections. He has been awarded numerous prizes in fashion design contests, for example third prize in “EİB” (Aegean Exporters' Associations, 2005) and “Adidas Adicolor” (2006); first prize in the contests of “Denimder Turkishblue” (Turkish Denim Manufacturers' Association, 2007) and “LeShow” (Moscow, 2007). He is a finalist in “Koza”, the ongoing contest of İTKİB (Istanbul Textile and Apparel Exporters' Associations), and was also a finalist in createurope '08.
