The job of the Theatre and Dance Division at the Goethe-Institut head office in Munich is to constantly follow interesting developments in drama and dance in Germany and to advise institutes on these projects. A specialist committee made up of eminent individuals from the German theatre and dance scene helps us in our work.
Who are the partners for the Goethe-Institut projects?
Partners for our projects locally include theatres, festivals, institutes of art education and individuals who play a major role in the host country and can guarantee that proposed institute projects will be consciously acknowledged by the local scene and professionally implemented.

The basis for joint projects with the Goethe-Institut is mutual planning on as long term a schedule as possible. This also applies to larger ensembles invited to perform at local festivals. Even if the idea for a project comes from a local partner the Goethe-Institut must be directly involved in organization right from the start. The project concept and selection of performers should be a mutual undertaking.
Short-term requests for financial support for projects that have already been fully planned cannot be honoured.
