Copyright: Bauhaus Dessau The Bauhaus Dessau Foundation is a centre for research, teaching and experimental design. In addition to maintaining, researching and communicating the legacy of the Bauhaus, the foundation particularly focuses on current urban issues, with their contradictions and cultural strength in the interface between demographic development, globalisation and technological revolution.

The Bauhaus Dessau Foundation develops models in architecture, design and the performing arts. Research, teaching and design flow into each other in all of the foundation's work. Among its research staff are architects, urban planners, sociologists, experts in the cultural sciences, artists and art historians. The foundation presents their findings primarily in the form of model projects, exhibitions, publications, conferences, stage presentations and educational offerings.

It is funded by the State of Saxony-Anhalt, cultural and media representatives of the Federal Government and by the City of Dessau.
