The HZK is an interdisciplinary centre belonging to the Humboldt University of Berlin. Its purpose is the systematic research of the interactions between major scientific and/or cultural changes and technical innovations. The Centre's work is project specific. The HZK provides access to its findings by means of university teaching, conferences, publications, exhibitions and public lectures. The HZK consists of three scientific project areas: the Technical Image, Theory and History of Cultural Techniques, and Scientific Collections and Science Communication.
