© ZEI The ZEI is an independent research institute at the Friedrich Wilhelm University of Bonn. Important themes are institutions in Europe, labour markets and systems of social security as well as Europe's global role. Research focal points are issues relating to European law, economic, social, cultural and political issues with respect to the process of European unification and expansion. In addition, regional systems of integration internationally are an important field of research. Sabbaticals for guest researchers and cooperation with non-European integration institutions are therefore gladly supported.

The ZEI's perspective is European, not national: it offers a number of internationally accredited master's study courses whose interdisciplinary programmes are guided and supervised by faculty members from the entire EU.
