2020
Blended Learning

Oman was also affected by Covid in 2020 and the necessary curfew and the official constraints forced schools to adjust teaching to such circumstances. After the premature end of the summer semester on 7 May, the Omani Ministry of Education (MoE) has decided to shift all public schools nationwide to blended learning model starting from autumn.

Since autumn 2020 the pupils study in a 14-days schedule that interchangeably varies between presence and online study.

During the preliminary phase the teachers should familiarize with several platforms. The Google Classroom platform plays in this regard a central role. PASCH has supported the Omani German teachers in this exceptionally hard phase with know-how and training through new interactive online tools.

The study takes currently place over Google Classroom. Germen used teaching videos of “Mozabook” which offers versatile scope of design. Due to the good cooperation and support of the local telecommunication network provider and operators as well as the operator of the Mozabook platform, the public schools were able to participate in online lessons in the spring for free.
