The Lives of Others (Das Leben der Anderen)

„Das Leben der Anderen“ is a German drama set in 1984 in East Berlin, about the monitoring of a writer by agents of the Stasi, the State Security Service. The agent conducting the surveillance on the writer and his lover, finds himself becoming increasingly absorbed by their lives.
„Das Leben der Anderen“  won the 2006 Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. It was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the 64th Golden Globe Awards.
