German teachers' associations
The German teachers' associations have been close partners of the Goethe-Institut worldwide for many years. In Belgium, too, numerous projects have been successfully implemented in joint initiatives to promote the German teaching profession. These include, for example, the Belgian German Teachers' Day, Belgium-wide competitions and further training programmes for German teachers and public relations work.
On 24 January 2024, the Goethe-Institut and the Belgische Germanisten- und Deutschlehrerverband (BGDV) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the aim of making cooperation between the two organisations even more systematic. The document takes the strategic partnership between the association and the Goethe-Institut in Brussels to a new level, particularly in the areas of further training for GFL teachers and promotion of the GFL teaching profession in Belgium.
