Europanetzwerk Deutsch

The German Foreign Office and the Goethe-Institut promote the German language as a working and procedural language in the European institutions through the exclusive grant programme Europanetzwerk Deutsch. Various language course programmes and events on socio-political and cultural topics provide the opportunity to improve existing German language skills and to become part of a committed alumni network in Europe. The activities take place both on site and online.

AN EINEM TAG IM SEPTEMBER

The film *One Day in September*, produced by ARTE and ZDF, tells the story of an encounter that was to mark a turning point in Franco-German relations: the first face-to-face meeting between Federal Chancellor Konrad Adenauer and the French Prime Minister Charles de Gaulle in September 1958. In the intimate setting of de Gaulle’s home in Colombey-les-Deux-Églises, initial reserve gives way to a trusting exchange between the two statesmen. The rapprochement proved so unexpected and enduring that it was later dubbed the ‘Miracle of Colombey’. But what made this meeting so extraordinary? Weekend German course: 75 years of the Federal Constitutional Court

How resilient are liberal democracies in times of polarisation and growing pressure on democratic institutions? To mark the 75th anniversary of the Federal Constitutional Court, this weekend German course, taking place in Luxembourg from 6 to 8 November 2026, will examine the German constitutional system and discuss the role of independent courts in safeguarding democracy and the rule of law.     Our intensive language courses take place at various locations in Germany (e.g. in Berlin, Frankfurt, Dresden, Munich) and include both, expert discussions with representatives of ministries and professionally relevant specialists as well as an accompanying cultural programme.
