The Goethe-Institut Cameroon is seeking a project assistant for an arts tour project from 2 May 2026 to 30 November 2026.

The Goethe-Institut is the cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany, operating worldwide. It promotes knowledge of the German language abroad, fosters international cultural cooperation and conveys a comprehensive image of Germany by providing information on cultural, social and political life in Germany.

Job description
Under the supervision of the cultural department, the assistant will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Assisting with the planning of project events.
  • Assisting with coordination between the various project stakeholders.
  • Assisting with the logistical organisation of the project: communicating with partners and service providers, organising travel, etc.
  • Collaborating on project communications management in conjunction with the department’s communications officer (visuals, video clips, press releases, content creation and editing for print media and social media, etc.).
  • Assisting with the administrative and accounting management of the project: preparing expenditure commitments, settling supplier invoices, recording expenditure in the accounts, monitoring the budget.
  • Assisting with evaluation and report production.
Skills
  • Hold at least a DipHE/HND qualification (two years of higher education) and have several years’ professional experience in project management (preferably in the arts).
  • Have a very good level of French and English; knowledge of German would be an advantage.
  • Have IT skills (MS Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Be willing to adapt to the Goethe-Institut’s software system
  • Have good communication skills
  • Have good intercultural and social skills
  • Be highly flexible and able to cope with heavy workloads
  • Be able to work independently
