While they are usually underestimated or neglected, stage clothes are an important element in a show or performance. Costume designer Andreina Vieira dos Santos will be hosting a costume design workshop on the topic: “Designing stage clothes with recycled materials”. This workshop is the result of artistic research on costumes as visual stage elements and solo performance objects in various spaces. In the process of creating some costumes, which involved using recycled materials, she was inspired to experiment with costumes with more stage presence. How does the urban environment influence costume design? How do costumes interact with their environment? What relationship develops between body and urban environment?
